Principal's Message, August 2019

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  Groveland Elementary is ready for another year of great growth.  We celebrated many achievements last year including exceeding the district and state growth rates in both math and reading, enrichment and gifted program development, and implemented even more STEM lessons and activities for students.  We had record attendance at our parent involvement nights, student council led community projects, and the whole school participated in our kindness campaign! In many academic areas, our student achievement rose to levels that surpassed both district and state averages.  We are committed to see that every child learns at high levels and is challenged. We also have a lot of fun celebrating our accomplishments and growth!

I truly believe that there is not a more qualified, professional, or caring staff anywhere than here at Groveland Elementary.  Many of our teachers spent time this summer in professional development classes and have returned to school ready to share and implement the latest techniques.  Staff and students alike continue to demonstrate a growth mindset and team effort to keep growing and learning. Expect great things to be happening this year in your child’s classroom and in our school.

We concentrate on being respectful, responsible, safe, and kind at Groveland Elementary.  Your child will build a belief that each of us makes a difference in our school and in our community as we work together to make school a great place to be. We welcome your input, hope that you will come visit, and appreciate your participation in our classrooms and activities.
